Relocation Support Services
A Flying Start: A well-organised move is integral to onboarding success. It minimises downtime and allows employees to hit the ground running in their new roles.
Efficiency and Productivity: By ensuring there are no issues with obtaining visas and immigration, and by arranging housing in the right place, your employee can quickly adapt and be productive. An orientation tour helps them quickly learn about the area, including sports facilities, shops, dentist and doctor, and schools for children.
Peace of Mind: When visas and immigration are not properly arranged, costs can be higher, and it takes longer for your employee to start working. This can also cause unnecessary unrest at home if family members are involved. By removing these concerns, your employee can fully focus on their tasks.
Focus and Enthusiasm: An employee who is well guided to their new life and environment performs better. This means that your organisation’s investment in their relocation pays off in the form of a motivated and productive employee.
Cost Savings: By preventing issues with visas, immigration, housing, and other matters, your organisation saves costs in the long term and minimises the time needed for your employee to become fully operational.
Visa & Immigration
Our Visa & Immigration services assist your employee in obtaining the necessary visas and work permits. This includes gathering the required documents, submitting applications, and tracking the status of these applications. We handle most of the communication with the employee and provide updates on the progress at regular intervals. Additionally, we ensure that the costs and services remain within the agreed terms.
Benefits: Reduces HR’s workload and ensures employees can start work legally and on time, with minimal stress.
Settling-in Services
Our Settling-in Services include everything needed to help your employee and their family feel at home in their new environment. This includes:
- BSN number appointment: We assist your employee in obtaining their personal identification number for official matters.
- Registration with local municipalities: Ensure that the immigration status of your employee and their family is in order.
- Opening a bank account: Start your employee’s financial journey in the Netherlands without hassle, including the option to discuss liability and housing-related insurance.
- Registration with a doctor/dentist and healthcare overview: Stay healthy with our guidance in the Dutch healthcare system.
- Arranging utilities: Gas, electricity, water, and internet are arranged for your employee.
- Driving license exchange: We assist your employee in exchanging their driving license if necessary.
- Help with mobile phone subscription, public transport, sports, and cultural clubs: Quickly assimilate into Dutch life.
- Aftercare: We provide support for 2 months after the completion of the services, as we understand that moving takes time.
Benefits: Employees feel comfortable and integrated sooner, increasing focus and performance.
Home Search & Temporary Accommodation
We assist your employee in finding suitable housing that meets their preferences and budget. Additionally, we offer temporary accommodation for the period before they move into their permanent home. In the competitive Dutch housing market, we provide insights into rental prices, utilities, and taxes – plus a free cost guide brochure that lists all expected average costs. Send us a message, and we will gladly send it to you.
Benefits: Saves time, reduces stress, and enables informed housing decisions.
Orientation Tour
Our orientation tour helps your employee, and their family quickly become familiar with their new environment. This includes tours of the neighbourhood, explanations of local amenities, and information about public transport, sports facilities, and cultural clubs.
Benefits: Accelerates adaptation and enhances comfort, resulting in happier, more productive employees.
Pre-assignment Visit
A pre-assignment visit gives your employee the opportunity to explore their new workplace and environment before they move permanently. This includes visits to the workplace, meetings with future colleagues, and exploring the neighbourhood. The goal is for the employee to discover the environment in which they can best thrive and whether this environment with its facilities ensures a pleasant stay, also for any partner and children. See it as a thorough exploration to ensure the right choice is made. During this visit, they explore the region to choose the right neighbourhood with the desired facilities, gain better insight into the housing market, and understand how the commute works.
Benefits: Reduces uncertainty, builds confidence, and supports informed decision-making for both employer and employee.
School Search
We assist your employee in finding suitable schools for their children. This includes providing information about local schools, arranging visits, and supporting the enrolment process. The Dutch school system differs from many other countries and offers various educational forms and pathways.
Childcare Allowance and Child Benefit: Parents can apply for childcare allowance for the costs of childcare and receive child benefit for the general costs of having a child.
Tax & Expat Scheme
Our Tax & Expat Scheme services provide expert advice on tax benefits for expats, such as the 30% ruling in the Netherlands. This includes providing information, submitting applications, and offering support with tax returns. The Dutch tax system can be complex, especially for expats who are not familiar with local regulations. Therefore, it is crucial to engage a specialist with experience in expat matters. Here are some key points:
- Expat Scheme: This scheme offers a significant financial advantage for highly skilled employees moving to the Netherlands. Expats can receive up to 30% of their gross salary tax-free, covering relocation costs, school fees for international schools, and other extra expenses. From January 1, 2027, the tax-free percentage will be reduced from 30% to 27%, which means that expats can receive 27% of their gross salary tax-free from that date.
- Tax Obligations: Depending on the expat’s residency status, they may be considered domestic or foreign taxpayers. This determines whether they pay tax on their worldwide income or only on their Dutch income.
- Double Taxation: The Netherlands has many tax treaties to prevent double taxation. A specialist can help navigate these treaties and optimise the expat’s tax position.
- Deductions and Allowances: A specialist can assess which deductions and allowances the expat is eligible for, such as mortgage interest deduction, education costs, medical expenses, and childcare allowances.
Benefits: Maximises employee financial benefits while reducing administrative burdens for HR.
Departure Assistance
When an assignment ends, we manage rental , moving arrangements, utility closures, and support inclosing bank accounts and managing financial matters. We also provide post-departure tax guidance.
Benefits: Ensures a smooth, disruption-free exit for the employee and minimal HR involvement.
